Qualitative research in nursing refers to a type of research methodology that examines people's lived experiences in a particular situation or place. Qualitative research is used to understand people's perspectives, beliefs, and attitudes in order to understanding the underlying phenomena being studied. Interviews, focus groups, and participant observation are a few examples of qualitative research methods. The investigation of problems including patient experiences, professional practise, and relationships between patients and providers is widely done in nursing through qualitative research. This type of study is essential to nursing because it provides an in-depth understanding of people's experiences and may be utilised to direct practise, policies, and interventions. Qualitative research is becoming more and more prevalent in nursing science. The lived experiences of nurses and patients are primarily the focus of nursing research. Qualitative study in the area of chronic disease has made some of the processes that individuals who have the condition go through and what it means to live with the condition more visible. New knowledge was also learned on the procedures involved in receiving and providing care. The understanding of patients' lived experiences that came from qualitative study on chronic disease was given to nurses. For effective nursing care, this knowledge is crucial. Qualitative research is not the sole way, and it may not be the best method for some nursing-related topics. It is complementary to do both qualitative and quantitative research.
