A nurse Anaesthetist is an advanced practice nurse who delivers anaesthesia for surgery or other medical procedures. Based on the local healthcare system, they participate not only during the operation itself, but also be involved before and after anaesthesia.
Perianesthesia Nursing: Perianesthesia nursing is concerned with providing care to patients undergoing or recovering from anesthesia. Perianesthesia nursing includes various subspecialty practice areas and represents a diverse number of practice environments and skills. They take care of side effects that patients experience as they coming out of anaesthesia like nausea and disorientation, respiration or other adverse reactions. They are skilled with the medical management of the patient along with the monitoring of heart rate, lung performance, blood pressure, body temperature and the balance of body fluids for patient safety and comfort.
